Culturally Responsive ISVA

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Culturally Responsive Independent Sexual Violence Advocate on behalf of a support service supporting survivors of all types of sexual abuse and sexual violence with a range of services including advocacy, therapy, education and prevention work.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual to join our team of experienced professionals who are committed to making a difference to the lives of survivors of sexual violence and abuse. You will need to have a background in the sexual violence sector, or a related field, and have the skills to provide non-judgemental trauma informed support. The Role

  • Support Survivors: Manage a caseload that includes survivors from Minority Ethnic communities, providing them with the support they need.
  • Break Barriers: Identify and address the barriers that prevent Minority Ethnic communities from accessing our services and develop innovative solutions to overcome these challenges.
  • Promote Awareness: Raise the profile of our Specialist Minority Ethnic Service and foster positive relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Enhance Referral Pathways: Create straightforward referral pathways to ensure that Minority Ethnic communities can easily access our services.
  • Champion Diversity: Ensure our services meet the diverse needs of all communities and promote self-referrals.

Person Specification

  • Relevant qualification in social care, health care, community work or education
  • Safeguarding training and experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the nature of sexual violence and its impact
  • Experience of working with survivors of sexual violence from Minority Ethnic Communities
  • Experience or knowledge of engaging and working with diverse Minority Ethnic communities
  • Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion

The post holder will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.
