Economic crime in public sector organisations (HMRC, Regulators, Home Office and Law Enforcement)
AML or counter fraud in Financial Services
Intelligence or Financial Analysis from a Law Enforcement environment or in Financial Services

As a Financial Intelligence Officer, you will be at the forefront of analyzing and enhancing financial data obtained from SARs and other relevant sources. Your expertise will support investigations into money laundering, associated predicate offences, and terrorist financing, contributing to the prevention and detection of financial crimes.

Job Description

Financial Intelligence Officer

Salary: GBA Grade 3 – £30,961 – £43,449 BAR – £45,531

Benefits: States of Guernsey Public Servants’ Pension Scheme is compulsory. Employer contribution 10.3%

Location: St Peter Port, Guernsey

Hours: Full Time

Role: Permanent/Full Time

Candidate Profile

Knowledge and understanding of economic crime and financial intelligence is essential as there will be a requirement to be able to analyse, assess and disseminate financial intelligence on appointment following a short familiarisation period.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and best practice guidance, including the National Decision Model and National Intelligence Model.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to undertake written research, extract relevant information, evaluate and draw conclusions in a clear and concise manner.
Excellent administrative and organisational skills, maintaining a methodical approach to working practices with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Excellent computer literacy skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (word, excel, publisher etc. with the ability to utilise open and closed intelligence sources and bespoke systems.
Able to act at all times with a high degree of integrity, to be entirely trustworthy and display an excellent understanding of the need for complete confidentiality when dealing with secure or sensitive matters, information or documents.
A flexible approach to working practices in order to adapt to the increasing changes, demands and challenges faced by the FIU.
