RSR Police are currently recruiting on behalf of our Warwickshire based client for a Programme Manager to lead and manage the successful delivery of multiple projects across the dedicated programme.

This is a full time, fixed term contract for 23 months and offers a rate of salary of £49,134 - £52,428 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Develop, plan and manage the delivery of business change programmes and projects using MSP methodology and prepare relevant programme documents at each stage.
  • Identify stakeholders at each stage of the programme and produce, implement and manage a stakeholder engagement and communication plan.
  • Ensure that appropriate level of resources are identified and secured to enable programme and project delivery.
  • Ensure that benefits management is an integral part of the programme and that benefits are identified, planned and measured and that there is a clear understanding of impact on the business area.
  • Monitor overall progress of the programme, identifying and resolving issues and ensure that interdependencies within the same and other programmes/projects are proactively identified and managed in a timely manner.
  • Identify, monitor and manage risks and issues ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner and the appropriate corrective actions are implemented and/or escalate risk where appropriate.
  • Report progress of the programme and expenditure to the Programme SRO as required and in line with governance requirements.
  • Provide ongoing management support for project managers, to ensure they improve the quality of delivery of projects and meet key milestones and targets.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
  • Lead a team, managing their welfare and development and ensuring high levels of motivation.
  • Assess individual capabilities and development needs and agree appropriate development plans to enable high performance and potential progression.
  • Supervise and monitor the handling of information and record keeping, ensuring alignment with legislation, policies and guidance.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and practices within own area of work in order to identify and implement opportunities for change and innovation and enable continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Regular travel throughout Warwickshire Policing area.
  • Degree / Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Professionally recognised programme management qualification (e.g.  Foundation level MSP).
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes.
  • Significant experience of the management of programme and project whole life costings and benefits realisation.
  • Experience of leading a team and managing staff in a large complex multi-faceted organisation.
  • Experience of risk management practice.
  • A track record of developing strong working relationships with a wide number of internal and external stakeholders including reporting bodies, senior executives, professional advisers and suppliers.
  • Proven experience of obtaining business briefing information, negotiating and rationalising requirements in line with organisational requirements.
  • Proven ability to plan, organise and deliver programme of projects within governance frameworks.
