Software Engineering & Development Vice President (VP)

Are you a strategic technology leader with deep engineering expertise and a passion for secure systems? We’re hiring a Vice President – Software Engineering & Development to lead a team working on identity governance and access management (IAM/IGA) systems that underpin global technology operations.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Kilkenny, offering a hybrid working model and a competitive salary of €107,500. You’ll be part of a team building next-generation cybersecurity solutions for complex enterprise environments.
The Role
As VP of Engineering within the IAM function, you’ll be responsible for leading the technical direction, delivery, and performance of a team of engineers focused on identity governance and SailPoint technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of SailPoint engineers to deliver secure and scalable IAM/IGA solutions.
- Work with business and technical leads to define requirements and architecture.
- Drive solution design and hands-on development of security platforms.
- Oversee coding standards, code review, testing, and deployment activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and support materials.
- Provide subject matter expertise in resolving complex, multi-system production issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage technical dependencies and risks.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale IAM or IGA programs in complex organisations.
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in software development and systems architecture.
- Strong understanding of IAM principles and governance.
- Background in cybersecurity, particularly in large financial or regulated environments.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in at least one core programming language (e.g., Java, Python).
- Experience with IAM/IGA platforms such as SailPoint, ServiceNow, Azure AD, or AWS IAM.
- Familiarity with QA and testing practices across secure environments.
- Strong architectural and design experience in large-scale systems.
- Comfortable working with cloud environments, scripting (UNIX/Windows), and source control tools (e.g. GitHub).
