Are you an experienced software engineer with a passion for secure development, modern architecture, and leading complex projects? We’re looking for a Software Engineering & Development Officer at AVP level to join a high-performing Identity and Access Management (IAM) team working on enterprise-scale security solutions.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid working model based in Kilkenny, offering a competitive salary of €80,000, strong development opportunities, and the chance to contribute to critical global systems.


The Role
As a senior member of the IAM engineering function, you’ll play a key role in driving the design, development, and ongoing support of secure, business-critical platforms. This role combines hands-on coding with architectural leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse new requirements and collaborate with product and development leads to shape technical solutions.
  • Lead architectural and design discussions, ensuring scalable and secure development practices.
  • Write, review, and execute high-quality code using modern programming tools and frameworks.
  • Support system testing, QA, and deployment activities.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to help resolve complex production issues involving multiple systems or platforms.
  • Estimate development effort, contribute to planning, and guide junior team members where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of hands-on development experience in multi-tier or service-oriented applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering secure, scalable systems in complex environments.
  • Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on contributions.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced, and global teams.

Technical Skills Required

  • At least 5 years of programming experience in Java/J2EE.
  • Experience with identity and access technologies such as SailPoint, ServiceNow, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Solid working knowledge of Oracle and SQL.
  • Experience with UNIX/Windows shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, ClearCase, or similar version control systems.
  • Exposure to Apache open-source tools, Hibernate, Web Services, and cloud-native architectures.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Vendor platform integration (e.g. ServiceNow, Azure, AWS).
  • IAM, cybersecurity, or enterprise identity systems.
  • Estimating software project timelines and resource requirements.
