Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Security Officer for a nationally recognised provider, known for its commitment to delivering high-quality security services and solutions. This role is ideally suited for an individual with a Policing or Military background.

Salary: £38,610 per annum
Job Purpose
- To provide a high standard professional security service as per site assignment instructions, which will include effective monitoring, reporting and responding to incidents ensuring duties are completed to an exceptional standard in line with the company guidelines.
- Ensure the security and safety of the site, personnel and visitors is paramount.
- To take appropriate steps as necessary to ensure that the property/premises
- Remain secure and to prevent unauthorised entry, damage, violence and theft.
Main Responsibilities
- To support the provision of a professional service to GUK customers, ensuring that service delivery is quality driven, responsive and orientated to the fulfilment of customer needs/requirements.
- To carry out duties as directed, including routine patrolling, tenant response (in support of Tenant personnel), in order to actively discourage, theft, vandalism and violence, including:
- Undertaking risk assessment
- Assessing the appropriate response required to particular incidents, including reference to the Service Delivery Brief
- Monitoring and continuously reporting, using radio communications and CCTV equipment, back to the GUK Control Centre
- Implementing approved emergency plans and procedures
- Undertaking the handover of responsibilities to oncoming Officers at the end of each shift
- To maintain contact with GUK Control, including liaison with the Duty Contract Manager
- control contractors working on-site in accordance with client instructions.
- To respond to instructions from Control to assist or investigate problems or incidents reported
- To respond to alarm activations and to notify key-holders as required
- To maintain an accurate record of all incidents, occurrences and observations on all security, resilience and safety matters
- To liaise with tenants, client representatives, emergency services, external agencies and members of the public and assist as necessary
- To be held responsible for the collation of H&S information, reports and other items as required
- To secure the premises as per the service level agreement and assume responsibility for any keys held on site (only following receipt of instructions from the client representative)
- In accordance with approved safe systems of work, to control and monitor vehicle and pedestrian movements in the park
- To participate as directed in exercises to test the Park’s Emergency Planning arrangements
- To work on a 24-hour rolling shift system
- To wear uniform and protective equipment as directed
- To wear appropriate SIA license for the security function and to abide by the Private Security Industry Act
- To contribute to and actively promote the equalities and diversity agenda in the workplace and in service delivery
- To ensure compliance with health and safety rules, regulations and legislation both on an individual and collective basis and to manage operational risks effectively and proactively
- To participate in self-improvement in performance through workplace development
- Undertake any additional duties commensurate with the grade of the post, including the performance of duties outside of normal working hours (if required)
- To maintain professionalism in all activities and duties
- To be both punctual and professional whilst carrying out duties on site
- To conduct regular check calls and patrols in accordance with the site assignment instructions
- Ensure the personal safety of both you, your staff, contractors and other visitors to the project.
- To ensure the safe access and egress of all personnel on and off the project. This includes ensuring that biometric procedures are complied with and any hard/software issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Ensure an excellent level of customer service is delivered at all times, respond positively to any/all incidents throughout the project and be conscious of all visitors to the site.
- Carry out regular patrols of the site to ensure Health & Safety of all site personnel and security standards are maintained at the highest level throughout your deployment.
- Report faults, Health & Safety issues and escalate any complaints to Supervisors and the clients appointed person.
- Monitor CCTV systems
- Report any anti-social behaviour throughout the project in accordance with the company policy.
