Investigations Manager

We are currently recruiting for an Investigations Manager to work on a full time contract in Coventry. A 6 month contract with likelihood of extension. Working on a hybrid work model after training.

The role is paying £22.76 per hour PAYE.

Job profile:
The client is a unique policing unit that bridges the gap between finance companies and UK law enforcement, dealing with referrals for fraud and theft of motor vehicles. As well as having a proven track record of managing investigations the candidate should have an understanding of the current challenges within UK policing. They should have knowledge of how to influence police forces to investigate and manage offenders that are identified in the unit and considered a risk to UK policing and the public. They should possess skills to negotiate, support and assist law enforcement in making the UK a hostile environment for vehicle crime and vehicle enabled criminals. The role will require the candidate to be confident in briefing law enforcement and private industry partners at all levels. On occasion there will also be a requirement to present investigations to formal management settings such as tasking processes and industry conferences. An understanding of intelligence processes and entrance points into policing would be desirable to join up public and private partnerships in tackling organised vehicle crime.

Main Responsibilities:
To manage, lead and supervise officers and staff within thethe Investigation Team
To assess referrals and direct investigations within the dedicated Fraud Team, prioritising appropriately
To ensure connectivity between the Investigation team and other work streams
To provide access to subject matter expertise for fraud matters in the vehicle crime arena and other, wider vehicle crime issues
To form and maintain effective channels of communication & build working relationships with operational police officers, other Police Forces; ROCUs and external agencies
To appropriately challenge Police Force Triage Units where a referral has not gained secondary investigation traction
To assist in the management of Stakeholder engagement
To represent the Investigations Team at internal management meetings
To represent the organisation at external meetings and conferences
To identify opportunities to prevent fraud
To identify and seek to implement new investigative practises that arise from advancements in technology or other means

Experience:

Essential:

Some experience of working in an investigative environment with some evidence of either managing a small team or prioritising and allocating work, mentoring or coaching others etc.
An understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM).
Desirable:

Experience of presenting at meetings/conferences and communicating with external stakeholders.
Knowledge of the police organisation and structure
